CubeSat Solar Array Drive Assembly
This flight-qualified, compact, fully integrated single-axis drive is the world’s smallest solar array drive assembly. Honeybee Robotics designed it for nanosatellite applications requiring tracked solar arrays to boost power collection capability. It can greatly enhance average orbital power, enabling CubeSats to fulfill new high performance applications in Earth imaging, space science and situational awareness.
The solar array drive assembly (SADA) was designed to the CubeSat standard, and can transfer 100 watts of power from a pair of deployed panels. It features an auto sun-tracking capability.
At 6.5mm, this SADA has an integrated that includes power transfer, tracking actuator & control electronics. It offers flexible control options, either host-driven or autonomous sun-tracking modes. And it maintains the bus geometry of the standard CubeSat form factor.
